Automated Vehicle Barrier

The threat of a continued terrorism requires new methods and solutions for preventing attacks on our military bases, government buildings, embassies, power and nuclear plants, ports, gas and oil refineries, and other sensitive locations.

The RSS-2000 Electric Vehicle Barrier is a non-hydraulic, fully-self contained system that can be deployed at a single location or at a multiple vehicle choke point configuration to provide total security control with either a keystroke or a touch screen operator console at the Command Control Center. You can go from an open-road condition to a closed-road condition in a few seconds. The system puts the Command in control of vehicle access at all times. The system is currently installed at Charleston AFB, South Carolina, McChord AFB, Washington, Defense Logistics Agency, Virginia, Naval Support Facilities, Maryland and Bureau of Reclamation, Davis Dam, Arizona, as well as many other facilities.

The RSS-2000 barrier is housed in a steel vault with four (4) 4-inch by 4-inch removable tubular steel posts (bollard). A 4-inch by 1/2-inch thick steel bar is welded across the end of the bollards and chains are connected to each bollard. The unit is hot dipped galvanized for corrosion resistance. The top of the vault is coated with an anti-ski surface. The RSS-2000 barrier can be deployed at heights ranging from 30 inches to 48 inches.

An electromechanical self lubricating actuator with a Spring Assist Assembly is used to deploy the Barriers. The systems, depending on size and type, can be powered by 110 volts, 220 volts, 12 volt or 24 volts. The units can also be integrated with existing or new generator systems. The units use a standard dry contact in their control boards, which allow integration with most any security system in place or proposed. Installation, which is flush mounted to existing roadway, is simple and can be completed in just one day.

The RSS-2000 Vehicle Barrier comes in widths of 10, 12.5 and 15 feet with a continuous cycling ability of less than 3 seconds either deployed or retracted and comes with an industry best warranty of 3 years for all electrical components and 5 years for all mechanical components, parts only.
