WATERGUARDTM

Marine Barriers

Our NEW Marine Barrier System Designed For Waterway Security

Protecting our national infrastructure, global commerce and sea trade is a Homeland Security imperative. To reduce vulnerability through access from the water's surface, Trident Security Devices — manufacturer of the ROADGUARD/2TM state-of-the-art portable terrain barrier — has developed the new WATERGUARDTM Marine Barrier, designed to prevent and deter water-surface penetration into seaports, harbors, rivers, inlets, coastlines and other critical waterways.

These 7-foot long polyethylene barriers are bolted to two 84-inch pontoons and are connected by strong steel cables. They can be deployed spaced as shown — or with with optional 4-foot high chain link fence screens — for perimeter water security that can control access and limit intrusion from the water's surface.

When maximum security is required, devices such as fiber-optic intrusion sensors, SONAR sound wave detection systems, and laser surveillance systems can be added to the barriers or the chain link fence screens.

Why Our High-Density Blow-Molded Barrier Outperforms Old Barriers

Because High-Density polyethylene (HDPE) is 2-1/2 times stronger than Low-Density polyethylene (LDPE), it is now practical, using new advances in blow-mold technology, to manufacture a barrier that is lighter in weight, yet still stronger than a rotationally molded, LDPE barrier of similar size.

The result is the WATERGUARD — a 90 lb. double-chambered portable barrier bolted to two 30 lb. pontoons that is manufactured at significantly less cost than competitive-rotationally molded barriers.

*Tensile Strength - The pulling strength required to break a given specimen.
Flexural Strength - The tensile stress of the outermost fibers of a bent test sample at the instant of failure. Flexural Modulus - A measure of the strain imposed in the outermost fibers of a bent specimen.

Features

The 90 lb. WATERGUARD barrier is 7' long x 3.5' high x 2' wide at the bottom. The two chambers are structurally interlocked and brass-bolted together with four strong structural foam-molded polyolefin lugs. The double chamber provides two vertical walls in the center of the barrier, delivering added strength and stability. The barrier is bolted to pontoons that are 7' long x 2' wide x 1.5' high and weigh 30 lbs. each.
