When Waterway Security Is Required, Our New ROADGUARD® Maritime Barrier Can Do The Job -
The directives for protecting our national infrastructure, global commerce and sea trade, call for new security initiatives by SEAPORTS & HARBORS, MILITARY VESSELS, MERCHANT & CRUISE SHIPS, NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS, UTILITIES, BRIDGES, REFINERIES & SHIPYARDS. To reduce vulnerability through access from the water’s surface, Roadguard —the state-of-the-art portable land security barrier— has developed a new Maritime Barrier designed to prevent and deter water-surface penetration into seaports, harbors, rivers, inlets, coastlines and other critical waterway areas.
These floating, polyethylene, 6 foot long barriers are connected to each other by strong steel cables. They are 5.5 feet in height and draw 2 feet of water when ballasted, leaving 3.5 feet of barrier above the water line. They can be deployed individually spaced or jointly connected, alone, or with 4 foot high chain link fence screens for perimeter water security that can control access and limit intrusion from the water's surface.
A single barrier with a security screen attached can be used to house a sign panel cautioning potential intruders from proceeding into prohibited areas.
When maximum security is required, fiber optic and laser security systems can be added to the chain link fence screens as well as sonar detection systems to the underside of the barriers. These systems can pinpoint intrusions and breaks in water or land perimeters and quickly alert authorities for an appropriate and immediate response. Additional security devices can be attached to employ surveillance and alert systems.
